High School Exams and New York State Regents Week
Yes it's that time when northern Westchester County high school students along with their counterparts across New York State spend the next week taking local mid term exams and the dreaded New York State Regents exams. I remember those weeks when I was young and now I am watching my own children go through it. For the last few weeks in school there have been review classes and study groups getting together leading up to this week. In years past there have been an occassional test given that was so hard, most of the students across the state failed so they ended up marking with a curve--but that is the rare exception. For most schools, these exams are a major component of a students grade and can make or break a student's cumulative average as these look toward college, so the tension and stress for students this year as with every year, is very high this week.
So parents, siblings, other family members and friends, wish these young people well, forgive their rudeness at times and just be as supportive as possible and remember that the next Regents week isn't until June 2007.
