In Mount Kisco,NY It's Ready Set Go Cart!
The Grand Prix of NY, an indoor go cart race track has now opened it's doors in Mount Kisco northern Westchester County NY. The indoor racetrack is the brainchild of Sy Aryeh and Yury Lyalko, who missed racing carts in the winter when New York's tracks, all outdoor, are closed.
After a visit to a luxury indoor facility in Boston, Aryeh knew he had to create a New York rival.
"I called my broker and said, 'You've got to find me 120,000 square feet of space,'" he says.
"And it's got to be cheap too," adds director of marketing Nat Mundy.
What they found was a Grand Union supermarket distribution center abandoned sometime after the company filed for bankruptcy in 2000. Inside, 118,000 square feet of warehouse space became the track of the founders' dreams, one Aryeh calls "challenging yet forgiving."
So drop by the old Garnd Union Distributuon center off Route 117 North and test your driving skills!
