Funds raised to save Katonah's Annual tree-lighting tradition

The annual Katonah holiday tree lighting was in danger of disappearing until the community rallied and raised the $7,000 needed to illuminate the giant Norway spruce. Starting with a contribution of $2000 from the Katonah Chamber Of Commerce, despite these tough economic time, an outpouring of community support has saved a beloved holiday tradition in Katonah by raising the additionl $5000 needed.

The lighting of the 100 foot tree at St. Lukes is an annual village event with music, singing, cookies and hot chocolate. It will take place at St. Luke’s Church, at the intersection of Bedford Road and Katonah Avenue. A person in the audience will get a chance to light the tree
